kulu se mama Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 i must admit i am not much of a dead fan and was not a garcia fan at all, but i managed to pick up this set (go figure). i can't really handle discs 4 and 5 (cats and roses), but the first 3 discs have not left my player in over 2 weeks. disc 1 is excellent and "sugaree" is now one of my all time favorite songs. i must be the anti-dead fan, because i prefer their studio work. my favorites are "working man's dead," "american beauty" and now the first garcia solo disc. and if i am not mistake they all 3 come from the same year (1971). i'm always amazed when bands get in a groove and all of their best work just comes in bunches. AfricaBrass Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 You're welcome, Chris! It's a nice set. I had the older versions of the albums in it, and the new versions blow them away. Quote
jazzbo Posted June 2, 2004 Author Report Posted June 2, 2004 I got mine preordered from cduniverse for 59 as well, but now I wish I'd gotten it from the jerrygarciastore.com for 65 with the SEVENTH disc they are offering there! Quote
