Most woman jazz musicians that have left their mark were singers. What about the ones that played instruments? Mary Lou Williams. Art Blakey said she taugh him stuff when he played with her. Jutta Hipp. Well she didn't record much, but she played a mean piano. Any others to add to the list? Quote

It was a polished and gleaming performance lacking much in the way of originality and verve. Stylistically she seemed all over the place as if keen to show off her versatility and influences.
