dave9199 Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 (edited) Does anyone have this record or cd by Tubby Hayes? Every track listing I find is the same as on the Roland Kirk box set which is fine, but I just want to make sure. Thanks. Musicgeek, over & out. Edited April 24, 2004 by dave9199 Quote
paul secor Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 On the Classic CD reissue I have, the tracks are: Afternoon in Paris I See with My Third "I" Lady "E" Stitt's Tune Medley: If I Had You; Alone Together; For Heavens Sake Quote
dave9199 Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 (edited) Aaaahhhh! There are in a different sequence. Thank you Paul. Now I can't find Reeds & Deeds & the Benny Golson one. Forgot to add these are Kirk cds, heh, heh. Edited April 23, 2004 by dave9199 Quote
brownie Posted April 23, 2004 Report Posted April 23, 2004 Is this what you are looking for? http://www.eclipse.net/~fitzgera/rahsaan/tubby.htm Don't have the CD of it. I have the Kirk Mercury box. Quote
dave9199 Posted April 23, 2004 Author Report Posted April 23, 2004 I've got that, thanks, but that site & most I've found, including the link you have, list the sequence of songs as on the box set, not the actual album. I've got the Hayes one, but now need Kirk's Reeds & Deeds and The Benny Golson one. Quote
dave9199 Posted April 24, 2004 Author Report Posted April 24, 2004 No one knows? I'm itching to recreate them on tape for my car. Someone's holding out, is it you? Quote

dave9199 Posted April 24, 2004 Author Report Posted April 24, 2004 (edited) Thanks for the discography. I was just about to post again on two more albums, but everything's o.k. Although the Tubby Hayes track listing is different from the one given by Paul. This one is the same as the box. I wonder which is the correct one? Thanks again coudub-ya. The third link goes to the album discography also. fixed the link. as for the Hayes album, I'd say Paul is right: I did some check-back via amazon.co.jp (can't read a thing) and babelfish. Quote
dave9199 Posted April 25, 2004 Author Report Posted April 25, 2004 I think Paul is correct too as (1) I would think they'd split the two 9 minute songs on each side for balance time-wise (on the box they're one after the other), & (2) after looking at the site again, the guy maybe couldn't find that album, so took the track sequence from the box set because all of the others are right (i.e. don't match the box). Quote
couw Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 the album was released on CD in Japan last year. I translated the tracklisting from amazon.co.jp, using Babelfish, that is close enough to convince me that Paul is correct (and why shouldn't he be!) Quote
