connoisseur series500 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Great shot by Reggie and good game. I still think the Pacers will take this one in six, even though I don't want to admit it. Damn it, Jim. Have a little more confidence in the Pistons. I know Sheed is hurting, but they took the Pacers to the wire. I haven't given up on the yet! Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 1st game : Lakers/Wolves. Didn't Shaq make 9 of 11 free throws? The Wolves lost by 9. Usually Shaq doesn't make his free throws. Toldya earlier, Terence. No other team in the West will stop the Lakers. Not sure that any team in the East will either. It's now ho-hum... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 24, 2004 Author Report Posted May 24, 2004 I go back and forth. Sometimes I think the Pistons will take it, sometimes I think the Pacers will. Maybe they'll go down to a game seven. That would be sweet! In all honesty, I like Carlisle better than Brown and I'm not too happy the Pistons gave him up. He deserves to be in the finals. Quote
rachel Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Word has it that you could hear the crowd roar all the way to Sheldonm's house after Reggie hit that 3. There hasn't been this much intensity between two teams since the Pacers/ Knicks of the 90's. Certainly the dynamics of Ron Carlisle versus Larry Brown, former coach versus former coach, is interesting. Game two will be a different game after adjustments are made. I don't see the Pistons throwing up two airballs in the waning moments of game 2. It's gonna be ugly Part II. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 a gift to reggie miller, even if they advance does reggie have the nba dental plan? Quote
rachel Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Wow.... is that the best you can do? You must be really running out of material Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 come on now, reggie's bottom teeth could use some help. ss1 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 24, 2004 Author Report Posted May 24, 2004 I didn't see the game because we had a gig, but I did see some of that Rasheed interview today... him just repeating "They will not win game 2" over and over again to the reporters. Ha! You gotta love the guy's spirit. What were the Blazers thinking? Who wouldn't want that guy on your team? Quote
doubleM Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I'm not a Blazers fan, even though I live in Portland...but I think that old 'Sheed is a putz. I'd like to see the Pistons prevail in this series, though. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 i still can't believe that blocked shot by prince on reggie, my jaw dropped for like 30 seconds. ss1 Quote
Noj Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Prince never quit on the play, that's what coaches always preach on defense. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 That was an amazing play. Even more amazing than some of the terrible calls. The call by the official that was behind Chauncey Billups was insane. How can you call a double-dribble violation on a player when you are behind him, (ie, his back is FACING you) and you cannot see his hands?!?!! The blocking foul on Tayshaun earlier when he was run over was insane as well. Not to mention the two early fouls on Ben Wallace that even the commentators couldn't grasp. But they won it anyway. What a fight! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 the tenderwolves HAD to win the last game so that the series can turn a profit. ain't nobody making any $$$$ on sweeps, except lakers fans has some of the guys on the t-wolves shown mad-dawg any new dance steps? i heard spree does a mean robot with his hands actually shaking a make believe coach ss1 Quote
jack Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Lakers/Timberwolves, tonight. This series is getting rougher. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 after three lakers up by five i have the lakers by 5, they are 8 1/2 favs ss1 Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 (edited) my boy is putting on a free-throw clinic ss1 Edited May 26, 2004 by Soulstation1 Quote
doubleM Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Good one. 8 of 22? I guess the clinician may have helped, say...Madsen? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 i'm getting some good gift ideas for the tenderwolves. since k-gee has all dat $$$$$$$ barkley said the lakers have zero respect for the tenderwolves having all the w/c games on tnt sucks, we don't have cable at work ss1 Quote
Noj Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 I was laughing my ass off when Shaq was imitating Madsen's defense to the ref after that cheap offensive foul call. Then Shaq clowned Craig Sager's suit after the game (and a few insulting questions from Craig). Shaq is the man, but his free throws are unbelievably bad. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 why in the world would you try and d-up shaq's ass? he has the powerfull ass in the universe the mad-dawg vs shaq mis-match is as bad as k-gee vs salva the mailman is roughing up k-gee ss1 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 Pistons win game 2... although they tried their best not to!!! Man, up by 13, then Pacers close it to 5, then up by 12, then they close it to 1... talk about a roller-coaster!!! Where's rachel? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 i hope i didn't make her mad with my comment about reggie's teeth. ss1 Quote
rachel Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 (edited) i hope i didn't make her mad with my comment about reggie's teeth. ss1 Nah.....I think your comments are, for the most part, very entertaining (well, except when you insisted on a "Disco Thread"-- ) EDIT: Rumor Mill has it that Bruce Hornsby will be performing at Sunday's game accompanied by Pat Metheny (hear that Joe G? ) I will be there. Hopefully behind the Pistons bench. I was planning on wearing my " I Organissimo" t-shirt ( as well as give Organissimo CDs to the owner of those tix who is so generous) but with B3-ers attitude, I might have to re-think that. If we can't shoot, at least we have good entertainment. Edited May 27, 2004 by rachel Quote

In fact, Ben's first blocked shot in the first couple minutes of the game landed squarely in my hands....too bad I had to give the ball back! I've been to both home games so far, man I'm not sure my heart can take it! Of course I want the Pacers to win and think they'll find a way to pull it out but I do like Ben Wallace and his style of play! I'm not a fan of Rasheed, but his animation leaves me rolling in the aisles!!! I think a highlight film of him throwing fits, stomping around and whining would be priceless ! Mark Quote
