Matthew Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) I'm in the small town of Stanwood, WA, doing some "fill-in" work. There was a Heat Advisory issued yesterday, the temperature? 81. Same for today. Edited August 17, 2012 by Matthew Quote
kinuta Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 Rain and ominous rumbling of thunder. Still it's far better than yesterdays cauldron. Quote
brownie Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Drove down yesterday from the civilized Paris weather to the brutal heat of the southwestern France Landes area. Thermometer was at 41°C (105°F) when we arrived. There is a local fiesta in the nearby city today. We'll stay indoor to avoid the heat Edited August 18, 2012 by brownie Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 And the forecast for Paris when I get there on Monday is rain!!! OBO110X MG Quote
sidewinder Posted August 18, 2012 Report Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Glorious weather out here - not too hot, just right in the high 20s. Just right for pruning the hedges and listening to Harold Land. Edited August 18, 2012 by sidewinder Quote

A Lark Ascending Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Amazing picture - love the way the water has been caught. Here its mainly grey or raining. We had a week in late July that was summer as it should be. Apart from that it's been very disappointing. Quote
crisp Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 There was that boiling hot weekend a couple of weeks ago, plus it was quite nice for most of the Olympics. The days and days of rain at the start of summer were incredible. I never complain about unpredictable weather, though. It's one of the many things I love about living in England. We could easily get some real summer weather in September. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 We could easily get some real summer weather in September. Count on it. Four weeks of kids complaining 'I can't do no wok, it's too 'ot.' Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Rubbish summer in UK (weather-wise) is now official: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19427139 I blame Nick Clegg. Edited August 30, 2012 by A Lark Ascending Quote
sidewinder Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 I never complain about unpredictable weather, though. It's one of the many things I love about living in England. That's true. I've lived in places that were parched and anything but green. We should give thanks for our weather - it makes the place what it is ! Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 We should give thanks for our weather - it makes the place what it is ! Nah! Complaining about it endlessly makes us what we are! Quote
paul secor Posted August 30, 2012 Report Posted August 30, 2012 Couldn't be better. Low 80's, little humidity, beautiful blue skies. Have to enjoy it while it's here. Quote
