A Lark Ascending Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 I used to have frogs in my pond. This morning I spotted: All getting a bit J.G. Ballard! Quote
B. Goren. Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 21°C in Tel-Aviv and the sun is shining. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Close to 100 degrees here today with the heat index nearly 110F. As I sit here right now nearing 9PM eastern, it's 91! Quote
John Tapscott Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Close to 100 degrees here today with the heat index nearly 110F. As I sit here right now nearing 9PM eastern, it's 91! Very similar here in Southern Ontario, maybe even hotter. At 8PM, it was 95 F, feeling like 113! Quote
BFrank Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Not a problem here (SF). 67 degrees and dropping as the fog is rolling in for the evening. Quote
marcello Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 My wife wishes she was in the Bay Area, Brooks! It was over 100 here today. Quote
BFrank Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Sorry guys, didn't mean to rub it in. Just wishing I could blow a little of it your way. Quote
Shawn Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Not a problem here (SF). 67 degrees and dropping as the fog is rolling in for the evening. 68 here in mid-central Los Angeles. Quote
B. Goren. Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Hot & humid in Tel-Aviv. 32°c (almost 90°F) and 70% humidity. Time to go to the beach. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 A difficult night of sleeping even with the air conditioning on. At present almost 1 AM and it's 85 degrees. Quote
brownie Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 It's been pretty miserable in Paris for the past week. The Paris Plage fake beach event along the Seine river opened under grey skies (when it was not raining). Not expecting to really get better until the end of the month Quote

The Paris Plage fake beach event along the Seine river opened under grey skies (when it was not raining). Not expecting to really get better until the end of the month Pretty well the same up here - colder than would normally be expected. The usual settled weather pattern has not materialised this year and Atlantic fronts have prevailed. Sucks ! Quote

alankin Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Getting up to 102 today in Philadelphia. Quote
BruceW Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 It has been overe 100 degrees for the past week and a half. Don't see any relief in sight except for today, it MIGHT be only 90 something. I'm in San Bernardino, CA and they always give the temp as in the 90's but where I live, you can ALWAYS add 8 to 12 degrees more. So when they keep telling us a high of 97, I can expect it to be aroound 108-112 degrees. Whew!! Quote

The usual settled weather pattern has not materialised this year and Atlantic fronts have prevailed. Sucks ! I'm on the summer break as of this evening. I demand 3 weeks sunshine so I can enjoy Sussex, Dorset and, eventually, Cornwall in all its glory! Things went tropical at Easter. The rainy season has shifted! Heard the farmers grumbling this morning on Farming Today - a few weeks back it was the dry spring, now it's too wet to get the barley in and another crop is growing alongside. Quote
John Tapscott Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 "Only" 88 F here right now. Predicted high 91, doubt we'll make it as it has become overcast. Of course, it still feels like nearly 100F. But maybe this heat wave is finally starting to break up. Supposed to be nearly 10 F cooler by Sunday. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Absolutely brutal this morning. It had to be 90 F before 10 this morning. The high today was 102 with the heat index of 110. One more day of this shit. Quote
Christiern Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 My last post showed a NYC temp of 103º, but it soon climbed to 104º Now, at 6PM, its way down to 101º, time to celebrate Quote
TWilson Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Mid 80's F and sunny. 0% chance of snow. Quote
Aggie87 Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Hot and bone dry here. But keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Don, out in the gulf, which is apparently making a beeline toward Corpus Christi. I don't think it will strengthen enough to turn into a hurricane though. Best case is we get a good soaking rain and little wind damage. Quote
