Tom 1960 Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I was told with the heat index, the temperature registered 105 degrees today. I believe it. Quote
BFrank Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 on the chilly side.... probably mid-50's this evening. Quote
Tim McG Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 on the chilly side.... probably mid-50's this evening. I was in The City last week to watch the semi-pro Giants vs. the [hated] Dodgers. Long story short, I went through Priceline and got a deal on the SFO Hyatt. So I called ahead to ask about the temperatures. They told me it had been hot, you know, in the mid-70s to low 80s. Quote
jeffcrom Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I just got back to Atlanta from Bellingham, Washington, halfway between Seattle and Vancouver. I watched Independence Day fireworks in a sweater and under a blanket. It's going to be 96 degrees F here tomorrow. Quote

GA Russell Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 We were at 101 at 5:00 pm today, but it doesn't seem nearly as humid as it did two weeks ago when the temp reached 98, so it was much more comfortable. Quote
AndrewHill Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 My car said it was 98 degrees outside when I left for work at 2:30pm. Subsequently burned my arm on the inside of my car door. Quote
Tim McG Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I seriously do not know how you guys live in that stuff. Ack. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 HOT HOT HOT BLAST FURNACE HOT HOT HOT HOT MICROWAVE HOT- 100 yesterday, 103 the day before. Thankful I work in an office and there hasn't been a blackout yet. Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Heatwave also here, with the humidex factor over 104, you know it's hot when despite being summer restaurants and bars are keeping their windows shut so customers can enjoy fresh air. Quote
Tim McG Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 A roasty, toasty 97 today and with more Tropical moisture on the way. Wheee. Quote
AndrewHill Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Rolling black-out season has officially begun Quote
Tim McG Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Rolling black-out season has officially begun With a rolling LeBron James big, giant ego storm cell in the forcast. What a self-involved jackass. Quote
Shawn Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 This is the coolest summer I've experienced in Austin, I mean, it's still gotten hot, but not nearly as bad as last summer. The constant daily thunderstorms have helped the temp I'm sure. Quote
paul secor Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Finally some rain & a break from the heat - at least for a day. Quote
sidewinder Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Damn warm - and muggy. We need some rain ! Quote
Chalupa Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Last week we hit 103 3 times and this week we've received over 5.5 inches of rain in 4 days. That's more rain than we got in the past 74 days! Quote
Brad Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 I just returned from China and the weather was terrible. In Shanghai every day was high 90s and humid. You'd walk out at 800am and it was like walking into a furnace. Very oppressive. Beijing was the same but not humid. You have to walk around with cold water or you won't survive. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) A welcome week of rain with some wind. Much needed after a very dry spring. It had become so dry I spotted gazelle and giraffes crossing my lawn last Saturday. Hoping for another week of this and then - ping - four weeks of sunshine with a nice heavy downpour at about 3.00 a.m. each night. Edited July 18, 2010 by Bev Stapleton Quote
Tom 1960 Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Beautiful day here with temps in the mid 70's with sunny skies. An ideal day for the "BIG WEDDING" taking place just across the river from me. Quote
BillF Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Typical British summer: 65F, overcast, rain never far away, everything looking very green. Quite pleasant if you're used to it. Quote
