Tom 1960 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 More rain. Surprise! This has to be the worst summer in recent memory. On the positive side it hasn't gotten very hot, on the negative side it just keeps raining and raining. This has been killing my bike riding. I'm sitting here looking out the window and it looks pretty iffy. If it doesn't clear soon, it looks like I'll be heading off to the gym again to put my time in. Quote

I'm a long way from you, Tom, but you could be describing the weather here. There's an old saying that if it rains on Saint Swithin's Day (July 15th), it will rain every day for 40 days. I think we're into that this year! Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 July in Michigan has been amazingly cool. Mid 60s-mid 70s so far. Ann pulled the comforter up around 5 this morning. Quote
Free For All Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Hot. Humid. Rain every day. Waaaaah. Quote
sidewinder Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Interesting that the UK's "hotter than average Summer" long range forecast of a few months ago has now been cancelled by the Met Office! Rained almost all day today. General rule seems to be - if the Met Office make an announcement, inverse it and you'll then get the actuality. And these guys actually get paid for the tosh they put out ?! August not looking good... Quote
paul secor Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 More rain last night, but I'm not complaining. The rain cools things off and takes away some of the humidity. High 70's with a pleasant breeze right now. Quote
Aggie87 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Hot and dry. We're in an extreme drought according to the Nat'l Weather Service. We're over 12" below on our rainfall for the year, and no prospects for making it up. Our lake, which is one of our primary water sources, is at 35% capacity. It's the second driest Jan-Jun timeframe on record here. It sucks. Quote

Chalupa Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 We made until 10:37pm July 28th w/ out turning on our AC. Usually it's on by the first week of May. Quote
AndrewHill Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Well after a surprisingly cool July, the heat's been turned up high into the 90's with humidity to match. Quote
AndrewHill Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Strange day for summer: overcast, dark clouds and rain. If the temp was lower, I'd think that fall had unofficially started. Quote
sidewinder Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Some wild windy and wet weather over here the last couple of days - tail end of the recent North American hurricane. Quote
Matthew Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Gosh, I can't believe how hot it is here! It's 105!! I just got back from Tucson, and it's cooler there than here -- that's just messed up. Edited August 27, 2009 by Matthew Quote
Aggie87 Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 51 straight days of 96F or higher here. Plus we're in a major drought. We don't get much rain annually here anyway, but by this time of the year we've had about 19-20" on the average. This year we've had 4" of rain. Total. Quote
