AndrewHill
Well 'fall' hit today: yesterday it was near 70, today its windy and cold, near 50. Cool day though, to drink some coffee and listen to some jazz.

randissimo
Temps are going down here in West Michigan.. Always a sad and melancholy transition for me from the comfort and fond memories of the warm season to the miserable and confining conditions of the winter season, the time of year when gigs slow down and too many lesson days get canceled due to bad weather.. AndrewHill
Well fall is gone and winter is knockin' by dropping an inch of snow yesterday in Northeast Ohio; its either feast or famine around here.
T.D.
It was f*****g hell here recently... Got hit with a freak early snowstorm Monday night through Tuesday. Twenty inches of wet snow, which no one was prepared for. Trees down all over (some still had leaves, which didn't help). Lost power for close to 80 hours, just got it back this evening. Fortunately it only got down to around 20 the next couple of nights, so no pipes froze. Had to shovel everything out by hand, as local plow guy hadn't yet put either plow or studded snow tires on his truck. Edited October 31, 2008 by T.D. papsrus
Was nice and cool for a couple of days. Fall-like. Had a low in the 40s the other night. It'll be back up in the 80s tomorrow. And so it goes.
AndrewHill
We got his with a "surprise" lake-effect snow storm today which dumped about 4 inches of snow in some regions. Temps are still hovering in the 20's
AndrewHill
Cold front blowing through dumping significant amounts of rain, and now its turing to snow. At noon it was 73 degrees, now it below 30!
AndrewHill
More weird weather. Today its nearly 50 degrees, with gusty winds and rain.
rdavenport
Friggin' freezin' for a few days now. Sick of having to scrape the windscreen in the mornings. Edit - just seen the gritter drive down our street. I've never known the gritters come down here (very small road) - it must be a bad night ahead, else the driver's lost. Jazzmoose
I give up; what's a gritter?
sidewinder
I give up; what's a gritter? One of those salt and sand spraying vehicles? They've been pretty busy here of late. Didn't stop me nearly hitting an insane small bulldog that appeared from nowhere out of a hedge yesterday. Missed by about an inch (the damn thing just stood there in the road whilst I wizzed past frantically trying to miss it on the black ice. Then the pooch started yapping and chasing me when I drove off !! Edited December 10, 2008 by sidewinder

kinuta
Very mild, no need for a jacket although lots of people are in full 'Nanook Of The North' kit.

Aggie87
Going to be 29 degrees tomorrow morning here! You'd think this is Muskegon or something! edit - it snowed in both Houston and San Antonio today, too. Weird stuff! Jazzmoose
Our first snow in the Grande Ronde valley began last night. The surrounding mountains have had their share already, but this is the first day I'll have to actually drive in it. What a joy for a California transplant... A Lark Ascending
Rained all day. Cold too. Mid-week it was crisp and crystal blue - had to watch it from a classroom window. If only this government would get the weather syncronised correctly.
Jazzmoose
...but this is the first day I'll have to actually drive in it. Okay, that didn't work out too well, but the tow truck didn't seem to have much trouble pulling my van out of the farmer's field. I must admit, my snow driving has been mostly theoretical, and I really hadn't considered what the options were when a car was coming straight at you in your lane. Idiot. Jazzmoose
One thing I'll never understand about this area... I just checked the coming week's forecast. On Saturday, the high is supposed to be 6 (-14 for you sensible areas, if I remember my conversions right!). The low Saturday night is supposed to be 6. How the heck do they pull that off??? Are they trying to tell me that it's going to be amazingly dark on Saturday?
