The Magnificent Goldberg Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Still raining. Forecast for another four days (ugh!). If it stops long enough to dry a piece of stick, I'll measure the depth in the water butt again. MG Quote
BFrank Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 just got back from Vegas. 102/daytime 85/nighttime ... but it's DRY heat. Quote
AndrewHill Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Temps are a bit cooler today and drizzling. Still too hot to keep the windows open at night as we tried to last night. Thank God for AC! Quote
Free For All Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 TS Fay has arrived. Rain, rain, rain. Quote
catesta Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 I hope you put a cover on the smoker. Quote
B. Goren. Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Hot and umid in Tel-Aviv. This is the right time to drink beer near the beach. Quote
Free For All Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Still MF raining. Reminds me of- wasn't it a Ray Bradbury story?- the planet with the constant rain. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Didn't rain yesterday - first time for weeks. So after the shops it was mowing the effin' lawn! It's traditional for it to rain over August Bank Holiday, so I expect it'll rain this weekend. MG Quote
sidewinder Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 (edited) Didn't rain yesterday - first time for weeks. No kidding ! It's been a constant battle against tree/hedge/bramble growth this Summer - I've filled at least 1 skip. There are ash sapplings running riot so the tree surgeon with his buzz-saw will be over in a few weeks time. Bring on the permafrost ! Edited August 23, 2008 by sidewinder Quote
sidewinder Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 It's traditional for it to rain over August Bank Holiday, so I expect it'll rain this weekend. A given - especially as we are now 'officially' in recession. Quote

But wait until next qauarter's figs come out Looking like rain here now. MG Quote

OK - but allowing for, say, 20% margin of uncertainty/fudging of numbers (and I'm being generous to their arithmetic abilities - considering they were predicting above 2 percent growth as recently as a few months ago - morons) , we probably already entered the recession territory 3 months ago. Anyway, back to the weather. Still dry here. Edited August 23, 2008 by sidewinder Quote
BERIGAN Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Freakin' windy!!!! Just nonstop from Tropical storm Fay, and yet we are hundreds of miles away from it, and have barely seen a drop of rain! Quote
AndrewHill Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Nicer, but still a little hot...I prefer the fall which is right around the corner! Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Rained all day yesterday, but lightly. And this morning, too. But seems to be clearing now. Probably optimistic. MG Quote
AndrewHill Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Its been raining non-stop since last night, but has currently let up a little this morning. Still overcast though. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) Now out on Gibson Island in the Chesapeake Bay....heavy rain & high winds!! The beer, vodka and gin supplies running low. May be forced to swim out to the lighthouse just off shore in search of tonic water!!! Edited September 6, 2008 by Son-of-a-Weizen Quote
Neal Pomea Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Be careful out there with the remnants of Hanna! In the DC suburbs we didn't fare so bad. Quote
