How's the weather?

Recommended Posts

Sunny and clear now but ... Tropical Storm Fay is headed this way. I'm sitting smack dab in the middle of the projected path cone for Tuesday, it looks like. Just in time to kick off my vacation.

And for extra bonus points, my freakin' insurance company is trying to dump me because of some old growth trees near the home. Bastards. (I had 'em trimmed. Not cutting them down. Arborist said they pose no threat. Pictures and letter on the way.)

Looks like we're in for plenty 'o' rain and a big blow though.

Hey ... this is cool. I do believe that weather map above is updating itself. The cone has shifted slightly to the west, so if that shift continues over the next 24 hours, we could dodge the worst of it in Southwest Fla. ... It's always a weird feeling hoping these things don't hit you, but you know that they're going to hit somebody, so in effect you're hoping it hits somebody else. <_<

Didn't rain yesterday - first time for weeks.

No kidding ! It's been a constant battle against tree/hedge/bramble growth this Summer - I've filled at least 1 skip. There are ash sapplings running riot so the tree surgeon with his buzz-saw will be over in a few weeks time. Bring on the permafrost !

It's traditional for it to rain over August Bank Holiday, so I expect it'll rain this weekend.

A given - especially as we are now 'officially' in recession. ;)

No we're not - GDP growth was zero in the spring quarter, not negative. But wait until next qauarter's figs come out :D

Looking like rain here now.

Hmm. OK - but allowing for, say, 20% margin of uncertainty/fudging of numbers (and I'm being generous to their arithmetic abilities - considering they were predicting above 2 percent growth as recently as a few months ago - morons) , we probably already entered the recession territory 3 months ago.

Anyway, back to the weather. Still dry here. :D
