poetrylover3
St Louis. Yesterday-upper 70s. As we speak-snowing with 5"-9" possible before it all ends on Tuesday. I'm hoping for at least 1 day off from school. I teach and snow days are mental health days. Peace, Blue Trane.

AndrewHill
Woke up to a frozen, ice-covered wasteland. Cars have an inch of ice on them, trees have fallen over due to the weight of the ice (not any of mine thank God) but I hear someone with a chainsaw down the street. One of my huge tree branches though, was so encrusted with ice that it is now laying on top of my roof and chimney. Apparently trees have fallen over all over the place. A co-worker of my wife's said that one of her trees came crashing through her living room window last night Luckily, I'm off today as the kids don't have school. John Tapscott
Not bad today though clouding over now and the wind is blowing in an ominous way. 8 in. of snow yesterday; another 8-10 predicted for tomorrow and Saturday. We are nearing the record annual snowfall amount in the Greater Toronto Area, set back in '38-39. May even beat Buffalo this year! And it's been darn cold, too! Not sure how this fits into the climate change model.

catesta
Severe snow storm warning in effect for tomorrow with significant snowfall predicted. Yeah, this one looks bad. I'm still in Summit County. If I was to take off tomorrow morning I'd be ahead of it. Unfortuntaley, I have unfinished business here and can't leave until Saturday morning at the earliest. Now of course the problem is I may not even be able to even get out of here at that time.

The Magnificent Goldberg
Looks like we're being told to brace ourselves. Forecasters have predicted the fiercest storm of the winter with heavy rain and high speed winds set to tear across the UK. (Advertisement) There are fears of coastal flooding as spring tides coincide with the wild weather. People are being warned to stay inside on Sunday night and avoid unnecessary journeys, with winds of up to 80mph expected. A band of exceptionally low pressure was forecast to bring heavy rain and severe gales across the country, Meteogroup UK said. The unsettled weather is expected to climax on Monday morning and the Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for much of the UK. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/skynews/20080308/...er-45dbed5.html MG
