sidewinder Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 (edited) Summer ended half an hour ago - managed to get the washing in beforehand (phew!) MG My incinerator is incinerating away quite happily in the rain ! Nice downpour in the muggy conditions - no surprise that a croc has been spotted in the River Severn.. paul secor Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 Hot and humid yesterday. Cool and raining today. I'll take today. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 After two weeks of dry weather we're needing water. Been glowering over the last few days but doing nothing. Has just started pouring down. Hooray! Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 We had two or three days of rain, but the forecast's sunny now until Wednesday. I thought summer was over.MG Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Rained heavily overnight and into the morning but sun appeared about lunchtime - glowing since then. Hopefully nice for the bikes. Quote
kinuta Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Lovely and cool with the temperature barely touching 30. The nights are pretty comfortable and not so humid. We're lucky this year but all that will change when the so called rainy season finishes in a few weeks. Quote
Shawn Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 80 and sunny, forecast calling for the exact same thing for the next 10 days. Quote
kinuta Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 It's been gloomy and heavily overcast all day with 100% humidity. Now it's growling with thunder and raining. Never mind, just another super typhoon. People in Tokyo are totally blase about typhoons despite the tv's best efforts at spreading dread. Quote
niels Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 It's been raining non-stop for two days here and the sun is nowhere to be seen. Feels more like fall, then like summer, bbrrr. Quote
kinuta Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 An alarmingly ferocious thunder storm last night went on for over an hour with almost continuous lightning and giant cracks of thunder. A couple of girls on bicycles took shelter in the entrance area and were clearly scared, as was my Missus. Quote
kinuta Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Very hot. 35c, 85% humidity. There was another ferocious thunderstorm this evening. Quote
paul secor Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 We were supposed to have violent thunderstorms last night, but all we got was some distant thunder and some rain. The rain seems to have cooled things off and ended much of the humidity. I'm thankful for that. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Bleedin' 'ot! I put off getting the washing off the line until just now, when there was a bit of shade. Hardly smoked all afternoon - too hot to go outside! Africa temperatures today. MG Quote
BillF Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Africa temperatures today. MG I suspected as much. Now I have confirmation from someone who knows. Quote

The rain seems to have cooled things off and ended much of the humidity. I'm thankful for that. Yeah, we in San Bernardino, were supposed to have thunderstorms and rain, but no way, only a few drops and that was it. Next 7 days in 100"s. Quote
paul secor Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 Glad to see you back, Bruce. You've been missed. Quote
kinuta Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Africa temperatures today. MG I suspected as much. Now I have confirmation from someone who knows. Luxury It reminds me of a summer visit to Sheffield. I went to the barbers and was asked how I was coping with the heat, it was 25C !! It's a few degrees hotter than that in the middle of the night here, with 100% humidity. Edited July 25, 2014 by kinuta Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 Gorgeous at present. Someone forgot to tell the weather pixies that it is the school holidays. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 After a week of high 90's and worse, I finally broke down and got an air conditioner for the bedroom. Obviously, since it has arrived, it hasn't cracked 80, and I even had to use the heater this morning as it dipped into the mid-forties. You can't ask more from a product than that... Quote

It's a few degrees hotter than that in the middle of the night here, with 100% humidity. Younger daughter came home with a boyfriend from Perth, Australia. Asked how he was coping with the English summer heat, he said they were allowed to go home from work in Perth when it reached 40C Quote
