Blue Train
Still very calm here. Famous last words Mr Fish ! As long as he remembers to follow the yellow brick road, avoid winged monkeys, anyone on a broom, or just cut to the chase and click his heels three times and saying there is no place like home. sidewinder
Strange - not even a dustbin blown over here. So far.. Suspect that you had to be right on the coast to feel the worst of this one. Edited October 28, 2013 by sidewinder
The Magnificent Goldberg
Strange - not even a dustbin blown over here. So far.. Suspect that you had to be right on the coast to feel the worst of this one. Indeed. The people across the road left their recycling bags out on top of their wheelie bins and hadn't moved this morning. Phew! MG
erwbol
Two uprooted trees when I went out for a walk this morning. One in the park, the other blocking a busy road. Edit: Two more uprooted trees around the corner from where I live. Edited October 28, 2013 by erwbol
A Lark Ascending
Never really happened here. A fair bit of rain, a bit of light wind but clearly we were spared. I will return my flagellation kit to the loft.
Blue Train
Same here....though no F kit on my end.
BillF
Never really happened here. But we've still had to listen to hours of coverage by the Londoncentric media!

The people across the road left their recycling bags out on top of their wheelie bins and hadn't moved this morning. Phew! MG I spoke too soon - there was a major branch fall down the lane blocking me from getting out for a while this morning. My place remained unscathed though. Most of the people at my place who ended up working from home were London-area based. Nambies !
erwbol
My parents had to call the fire department to have a large tree in their backyard which was about to fall over dismantled.
porcy62
Sorry for your problems, hope you're doing well. Here in center/south Italy the weather is gorgeous, steadily sunny between 10 and 25 degrees celsius, quite an event considering the season. erwbol
Thank you. Eventually only the tree ended up damaged. The sad thing is that tree was thirty-seven years old and its disappearance will make their garden temporarily look a bit empty (the house is up for sale). A Lark Ascending
According to the news today it is being suggested that the reason so many trees blew down was because of all the digging going on to install broadband cables. Has rendered the roots unstable. Hmmm.

jazzbo
Second snow of the year so far, first time it stuck and stayed over night. It's going to be a long cold winter for this lonely transplanted Texan.

kinuta
Lovely crisp and cool weather with clear blue skies. Perfect for walking. Yesterday I walked a full, 42 K marathon. Excuse the inappropriate posting but I feel the need for a mini boast!
