A Lark Ascending Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Cold and rather beautiful. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 -6 F with wind chills near -30 F. I let the dogs out to do there business and they swiftly returned. They don't want any part of this cold weather. Quote
T.D. Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I think it might have been -25 F last night, pretty sure -20 (Catskill Mtns, NY). My indoor thermometer, which runs low 5-10 degrees in cold weather, said -32 early this morning. Quote
ejp626 Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 It's very cold out there (-18 C), but essentially no snow. Yesterday and this morning, Toronto was colder than Yellowknife! It's supposed to warm up a bit today and tomorrow will be hovering around freezing. Doesn't change the fact that I have to go out today and am dreading it a bit. Quote
paul secor Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 About 10 below last night and we lost power - I think due to a transformer blow up somewhere. We regained power late this morning, so not too bad. Quote
T.D. Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Stayed home today in bitter cold, but went out to start the car (successfully!) at 3:30 PM and the temperature read 0, which might be a degree or two high because the car was sitting in the sun. Funny, after a low near -25 F Sunday morning, temp might hit +40 F on Tuesday, with pouring rain. Quote
kh1958 Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 66 degrees Fahrenheit at this moment here in Dallas. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Lovely crisp, cold, clear day yesterday until 4 and then: Cold enough for a thin layer of the snow to have survived on soil and grass but crisp and clear again. But I wouldn't be surprised if... Quote

T.D. Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Over 40 degrees F and raining, may reach 45 F later. Quite a change from -25 Sunday morning - gain of 70 degrees in less than 60 hours. Largest swing I can recall. Quote
paul secor Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Same here. Over 50 now, though it wasn't quite as low as -25 Sunday morning. Strange happenings. Quote
fasstrack Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) We've really had our ups and downs here in N.Y.C.. Sunday we had an arctic, bone-chilling 2 degrees. Yesterday, snow to freezing rain. Today, steady rain but 54 degrees. Go figure... Edited February 16, 2016 by fasstrack Quote
Tim McG Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Rains have stopped. Looks like we are back in a drought pattern. Not good. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Blue skies all week. Think that's over now. Quote
paul secor Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Rainy, but in the 50's. Strange for February, though it helps with the heating bill. Quote
paul secor Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 Just a dusting of snow last night. Hope it's the last for the winter. Probably wishful thinking. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Spring is sprunging: http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/mar/23/country-diary-norfolk-blincoe-hares-spring-boxing http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/35822274 Saw first blossom of the year yesterday. paul secor Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 A couple of inches of snow here yesterday - no big deal. I imagine that it will all be melted in a day or two. Quote
