page Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) That said, I got some fabulous summer heels this week. Ha! Edited July 1, 2015 by page Quote
catesta Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 I've been in Arizona since June 13th. It's been brutally hot with most days at or above 110. I guess you can say it is better today with a forecast high around 102.I plan on heading back to NY sometime next week. My last two drives to and from have really sucked. All that severe weather from eastern New Mexico to Ohio in May was exhausting. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 And unfortunately, that unstable weather pattern is still front and center throughout most of the Midwest... Quote
sidewinder Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Scorchin' over here this week. Too bad I have to work.. Quote
erwbol Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Scorchin' over here this week. Too bad I have to work..It's over 30˚C. If your place of work has airconditioning that might not be such a bad thing. Quote
sidewinder Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 That's true - good aircon by this country's usual standards too. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Try being indoors at 2.00 with 30 fifteen year olds and no form of ventilation apart from opening the room door to allow a slight breeze. Any government that could guarantee hot weather at weekends would get my vote. Quote
erwbol Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) Already quite a bit of wind here in the vicinity of Haarlem. Temperatures are dropping and the sun has been partially blocked by cloud cover for at least two hours. Are you further inland? Edited July 2, 2015 by erwbol Quote
ArtSalt Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I predict a sub-tropical storm this eve, but before then I am going to have a few gin & tonics to aid sleep! Quote
Scott Dolan Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I could have used a few of those last night, Art. I had just walked upstairs to go to bed when the tornado sirens started blaring. Ugh…trudge back down to the basement and wait for the all clear. But the thunder kept me awake for some time after that. Quote
Cyril Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Are you further inland?Yep! Between the big rivers. Quote

A Lark Ascending Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 And lose valuable learning time? I suspect Nicky Morgan would see that as grounds to turn you into an academy or sell you off to a free school.*********************Clouded over this afternoon and we've had one heavy shower. Suspect there will be more. Quote
BillF Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Shaping up for the traditional English summer of two hot days and a thunderstorm. Quote
mjazzg Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Looking like three hot days and no thunder 9so far) in the capital. Now that is a heatwave.....Ashes summer, going to fine until we need some rain to obtain a draw Quote

erwbol Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I predict a sub-tropical storm this eve, but before then I am going to have a few gin & tonics to aid sleep!I felt the first drops of rain a few minutes ago while walking the dog. Showers and thunder will likely take a few more hours. I'll be having a few Jopen Adriaan myself, beer from Haarlem following a traditional 15th century recipe from the time Flanders imported beer from Holland in huge quantities. Quote
ArtSalt Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 The sun's back out here now, but there's a big white cumulus with dark intentions forming outside, so I reckon somewhere after midnight the thunder storm will hit. Those Jopen's are quite good, but since I've discovered Dutch Courage from the Zuidam distillery, I've sworn off beer as a lesser evil! kinuta Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 We're still in the gloom of the rainy season.Grey skies, rain, shrieking crows and 95%+ humidity. It should be over in a couple of weeks. Quote
BFrank Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Typical SF summer weather - 68 degrees, wind out of the West and foggy/cloudy.In other words: PERFECT! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted July 3, 2015 Report Posted July 3, 2015 I'm struggling with 90s and 30/40% humidity Quote
Tom 1960 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 A beautiful morning here in northern New England with temps expected around 80 degrees and plenty of sunshine. Much unlike yesterday the 4'th of July with mostly cloudy skies and temps barely reaching 70. Quote
