SS1,

I have to go with Carmelo Anthony. To me, he's had a greater impact on his team's performance than James has, but there's not a great margin there and I could go with co-rookies. Detroit really blew it, IMHO, when they didn't draft Carmelo Anthony. Can you imagine them with him now, and the Wallaces? They might do something in the finals.

Co-Rookies Of The Year. LeBron's individual numbers are better, 'Melo has helped his team to a better record in a tougher conference.

Wow, guess I should check the numbers first! Maybe they should give it to 'Melo outright--'Melo's jumper is so smooth.

How many assists is LeBron averaging?

Both had serious dunks and both have serious game. Barring injury these two will do nothing but get better and better.

noj

'melo has lebron on scoring average and rebounds, plus the nuggs are in the playoffs.

both this guys had some serious dunks this season

I said Carmelo, but my son (DivIII power forward, junior, 20yo) says LeBron because the rest of the Cavs are weaker than the rest of the Nuggets: i.e., LeBron couldn't singlehandedly get the Cavs into the playoffs, and Carmelo DIDN'T singlehandedly get the Nuggets into the playoffs...

I say make 'em co-rookies of the year. Believe they did that in 1970 with our own Geoff Petrie and Dave Cowens of the Celtics. LeBron and Carmelo are both terrific players. Nothing wrong with recognizing their contributions in tandem.

Up over and out.

I can remember near the beginning of the season, the local sports radio station had Larry Brown on and one of the hosts asked Brown if fans would get to see Darko play at all this year.

Brown just said "No" ... I thought he was joking, but I guess not.

Picking Darko seemed pretty bizarre to me ... and so did letting Rick Carlisle go; I just hope Dumars knows what he's doing.

I voted for co-rookies.

Really think Carmelo should win, because of the playoffs.

But have a feeling LeBron will win because he is more popular. Doesn't he sell-out on the road?

In my opinion, Dorko was a mistake.

Larry Brown was not.

The acquisition of Rasheed Wallace was brilliant.

According to ESPN tonight, looks like LeBron will get the nod. I think that's pretty typical for the NBA these days - going for flash over substance - so it doesn't really surprise me. I voted for 'Melo here, though.

Why Detroit didn't draft Carmelo is a total mystery. Why send such a talented kid to the West, which already has enough talent? Can you imagine where they would be right now with him? Unbelievable. Darko isn't worth the cost of the dye in his hair right now. Maybe he'll turn into a good player, but that's a big maybe.
