I've been listening to some Jack McDuff sessions, and I am really enjoying the tenor player on these dates. Red Holloway. Nice clean sound to his playing.

I thought I get the word out on him in case you are not aware of his playing. Worth a listen and more.

Any other artists that don't get their fair share? I want to pick up on someone I might not be aware of.

Hardbopjazz, I've only been into jazz on a heavy basis for five years and a few months now, but I'm still continually finding more artists I'd love to explore than I could possibly ever get to, both financially and timewise. I'm beginning to think this is a permanent condition...

Jazzmoose,

It is a permanent condition that you will never recover from- there will always be someone new to check out, someone else that has something to say that you want to hear- might as well do it in music, if you did it with women imagine how pissed your wife would be! :w

Funny, I just had this discussion with my ex-girlfriend not two hours ago. About the women, not the records. At any rate, I was burning that Giorgio Gaslini record "Nuovi Sentimenti" for someone tonight, and I was like, why the hell do I never listen to this record? It's really good, and really odd.

All that talk about how to pronounce Paul Quinichette's name earlier made me want to pick up that Coltrane and Quinichette record, just out of curiosity. I've always liked his name... (well, both of their names, actually)

Are you talking about "Wheelin' and Dealin'"? That's definitely worth getting ... nothing that totally jumps out at you, but good stuff through and through.

love it! Mal Waldron (and his tunes) add a lot to this one, in my opinion.

The two Gaslini discs I have should be listened to more often then they are, too! (I have the Monk and Ayler piano solo discs).
