Erick Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 Hi there, back in the early 80s I fell in love with a solo jazz piano track from what I believe is a northern European artist. The album cover, from memory, showed three photos of small waves coming to the shore. The track which still haunt me, had a very repetitive chord, kinda of similar to The Cure by Keith Jarret. Thanks for reading and helping if you can. erick Quote

mjazzg Posted Friday at 03:35 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:35 PM (edited) That's a great album whether it's the one being sought or not Edited Friday at 03:35 PM by mjazzg Quote
Dub Modal Posted Friday at 03:48 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:48 PM Indeed. I haven't listened in a while so I'm not sure if there's a solo track is on this one. Quote

HutchFan Posted Friday at 04:27 PM Report Posted Friday at 04:27 PM (edited) I remember reading somewhere that Ondas is one of Manfred Eicher's favorite albums in the entire ECM catalog. Edited Friday at 04:27 PM by HutchFan Quote

No solo tracks on 'Ondas' so it's not the one @Erick seeks. But what a superb album it is, my LP sounds absolutely gorgeous. Christensen (one of my favourite drummers) and Gomez are so on it throughout Edited Friday at 09:01 PM by mjazzg Quote
JSngry Posted Friday at 09:51 PM Report Posted Friday at 09:51 PM Nock was a New Zealander? Good player! Quote
GA Russell Posted Friday at 10:33 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:33 PM In Out and Around is my favorite album. Quote
rostasi Posted Friday at 10:52 PM Report Posted Friday at 10:52 PM I'm thinking it's "Ondas" as well. The piano, especially on Forgotten Love is so prominent with a repetitive chord throughout. The cover matches perfectly. It's early 80s ... "Northern European" ... "Jarrett-like" and so on. Quote
mikeweil Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Very underrated musician, this Mike Nock. Don't forget this great band https://www.discogs.com/artist/135863-The-Fourth-Way Quote
