T.D. Posted Wednesday at 02:34 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:34 AM DG is showing a significant batch of Ogun CD reissues expected May 1. They all seem to be available on bandcamp (download or CD), but CDs ship from UK (orders denominated in quid) with high rates to USA. DG seems like the way to go for Stateside CD buyers. Quote
romualdo Posted Wednesday at 05:46 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 05:46 AM Just checked the Ogun Bandcamp site & there don't appear to be any new releases there. Are you referring to Dusty Groove (DG)? Have just checked them & I can't see any upcoming releases/reissues for May 1. Can you post a link to those please. Quote

colinmce Posted Wednesday at 01:47 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 01:47 PM They have a habit of listing things as "new" when they are just restocking them. Possible these were re-pressed recently, but they get semi-regular reups on Ogun titles, just looks like they are re-filling more broadly this time. That said, nothing really new here. But I hope this means they will stock them regularly. Quote
T.D. Posted Wednesday at 02:30 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 02:30 PM Sorry for possible false alarm. A couple of the restocked titles have been on my want list, and Ogun's (via bandcamp) CD shipping rates are too high for me. Quote
colinmce Posted Wednesday at 04:14 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 04:14 PM Likewise, a few titles here I've wanted to pick up over the years but haven't had the chance stateside. Quote
mjazzg Posted Wednesday at 04:23 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 04:23 PM About 20 years ago Hazel Miller lived about 500 yards from me so I used to just pop round to make my purchases. She was a delight to deal with. I bought the Blue Notes box set and got a first hand history to give with it. She then moved out of the city to the coast. Quote

I used to order directly from her & agree that she was lovely to deal with - she would sometimes send handwritten notes with my orders 13 hours ago, colinmce said: They have a habit of listing things as "new" when they are just restocking them. T.D. Posted yesterday at 03:08 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 03:08 AM (edited) I'm going to stop being particular about the CD-R trend. With the sharp decline in CD issuance, seems like one has no choice but to accept it. However, I won't pay premium (e.g. Japanese import CD) prices for CD-R. Edited yesterday at 03:08 AM by T.D. That Ogun CDr was purchased back in 2012 (was not advertised as such) & every subsequent disc I've received since then has been a CD Quote
Ken Dryden Posted yesterday at 03:28 AM Report Posted yesterday at 03:28 AM I consider CDRs not labeled or listed as such to be false advertising. Anytime I get them from Amazon, I return them for a refund. I have had several CDRs fail, while I haven't had a manufactured CD acquired new fail. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Some of those I am interested in. When I was stocking up on Ogun many years ago, I concentrated on the older sessions and archival releases, so a few of the newer Moholo titles I never picked up. Then again, staring at walls and walls of music, I'm not sure if I actually need much more... Quote
T.D. Posted 18 hours ago Author Report Posted 18 hours ago I'm also nearing satiation point, but one of these releases features Frank Wright. 🤔 Quote
