clifford_thornton Posted Saturday at 09:10 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:10 PM Sad news, but at least he's beyond the pain of the last few years. RIP to a true American original. https://variety.com/2025/music/news/david-johansen-dead-new-york-dolls-1236324334/ Quote
Royal Oak Posted Saturday at 09:49 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:49 PM Wow, never knew he was "Buster Poindexter", whom I remember from that Disney film song LP in 1989. I'd only recently realised he had a cameo in "Oz", a show I watched religiously over 20 years ago. Quote
felser Posted yesterday at 05:07 AM Report Posted yesterday at 05:07 AM RIP. His music never did a whole lot for me beyond enjoying some of the 50's and 60's remakes, but he seemed like an interesting guy. So sorry to read about his decade of suffering, of which I was not previously aware. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM Report Posted yesterday at 12:13 PM I loved his performance in "Let It Ride", a movie a watch every now & then. I was never a fan of the New York Dolls and I doubt that I'd recognize any of their songs if I heard them today but I know "Hot, Hot, Hot" as it's played at a lot of weddings. Quote
