So dog died due to being crated and therefore no food/water?

And wife died a week before Hackman?  That's the part I can't understand.

The idea of the caretaker of an Alzheimer's patient suddenly dying at the near height of the patient's illness can certainly create an ugly outcome -
especially if an extra amount of privacy was maintained during his sickness. Curious to hear what's revealed after the chemical results come back.
