Isn’t that slightly contradictory? I like the music, so more music from that night is good enough for me, especially when it has Tina Brooks on it. I just don't like the fact that they are advertising this as complete when it is clearly not complete. When they released the complete Lee Morgan performance at the Lighthouse, it was actually all of the music recorded those nights, so they do know what "complete" means. As for why I don't want to try and contact anyone at Blue Note, well, my latest attempts to contact them have not gone anywhere, so I don't feel like trying anymore. I was honest when I told you to give it a try. Maybe it's just me that they don't respond to? Quote

That said, I have to wonder if "rejected" here means that they simply chose a different take as is the case for "Birks' Works", "Lady Be Good" & "36-23-36"? Which tracks on sides 4, 5 and 6 does Tina Brooks play on?? Quote

I posted the question about the additional tracks being rejected tracks and this is the reply from Joe Harley on FB: “Alfred approved and sequenced the original 5 track album. Later, after Alfred had passed, Michael Cuscuna added three great additional tracks to the CD version of the original. Michael was a dear friend of mine and we discussed this reissue before he passed. The additional 6 tracks are very worthy of being released. You can hear one of them now (‘The Take Off’) I did not include takes where there are technical problems like the tape running out or tape starting halfway through. I did not include one take because Michael and I agreed it was not worthy of release.” I don’t have the US re-issue, just the 1993 TOCJ, which only includes the original five. Quote

And there’s no way I’m paying as much as the recent McCoy/JoeHen discovery, for just 38 minutes of Tina that’s new (but mostly alternates). I love Tina, but there are limits. Quote

CD set pre-order is $21.30 on CDJapan, $24.99 on Dustygroove. LP set pre-order is $72.98 on Amazon, $75.98 on Dustygroove. Has not shown up on the Alliance Entertainment (DeepDiscount, importCDs, Collector's Choice) sites yet. The fact that the Amazon LP pre-order price is less than DG gives me hope they will end up being the best place to pre-order the CD from. Quote

I'm cool with a Jackson/Lincoln or so (about what I paid for the Jones/Farrell and Henderson/Tyner). Quote
