Rabshakeh Posted January 20 Report Posted January 20 (edited) I think this is pretty damn cool. I am 41 and I can barely release a bowl of pasta so I am filled with admiration. Well done to him. Edited January 20 by Rabshakeh Quote
mjzee Posted January 20 Report Posted January 20 That is pretty incredible. I wish him well, and the album much success. Quote
mikeweil Posted January 20 Report Posted January 20 So this will be the first album of a 100 year old jazz musician? Reason enough to buy a copy. At 80, he made this: Quote
Pim Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 Wow what a guy! So great he still has the energy to record music. Quote
Holy Ghost Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Wow. Absolutely love that he is still recording and with Don Cherry's daughter? Cool as fluff. The All Star Game is still one of my favorite Allen efforts outside of the Sun Ra orbit. Wait, is that a Member's Only Jacket he's wearing? My wife hijacked mine. Quote
Holy Ghost Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 All kidding aside about the Member's Only jacket, I'm moved. It's beautiful, Neneh is amazing . I'm buying it as soon as its available. Quote
adh1907 Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 Gilles Peterson interviewing Jimi Tenor this weekend mentioned getting Marshall Allen to play recently on stage with the Arkestra in New York, then meeting him the next day with Marshall standing outside in the freezing cold having a smoke, after having been up all night. About 1hr 54 into his BBC 6 radio programme on Saturday, tried linking but didn’t work. Quote
