nighthawk68 Posted Sunday at 04:23 PM Report Posted Sunday at 04:23 PM I found a box listed on the spine as "Jazz Brochures" with BMI stamped all over the box, It Contains a letter and ten booklets for different artists that contain an essay and discography. Curious if anyone has seen this before? Is it collectable? The bookstore was asking $50 but I couldn't find any information online. Quote
Dan Gould Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago Can't help you there but it doesn't strike me as worth $50. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted 20 hours ago Report Posted 20 hours ago (edited) The photos are rather poor so it's hard to make out the details. From what I've been able to decipher on the letter (dated 1961), this seems to have been sent out to radio people ("broadcasters") and the box was supposed to hold additional such brochures that were announced to be sent to them from time to time. Are there really 10 booklets? The different colors on your second photo seem to indicate (at least) 11 and the letter lists 12 artists. As for "BMI" I suppose that's "BMI" as in "ASCAP and BMI"? No definite idea about the rarity value. But I agree $50 seems a bit steep. Edited 17 hours ago by Big Beat Steve Quote
