ejp626 Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 Apparently a few people here caught Tolliver at the London Jazz Fest. Jealous... Anyway, this episode of BBC Round Midnight (on BBC Radio 3) with him being interviewed and introducing tracks he either played on or inspired his music is available for just under two weeks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0024xv8 Quote

Best known now as the new drummer for The Rolling Stones, he’s been Keith Richards’ only other songwriting partner (and drummer) for all 3 of Keef’s fantastic solo albums. And Jordan has produced dozens of albums for quite a range of artists, including Bettye LaVette‘a last 3 albums — and played as a session drummer on 50+ albums. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jordan_(drummer) Is that who’s playing in this group with Tolliver, Harper, et al.? (I like Jordan, and his playing and production are usually a big plus in my book on what all I’ve heard at least.) Quote

But there aren't any other "Steve Jordans" with a high enough profile to be in this show. Quote
JSngry Posted December 12 Report Posted December 12 Steve Jordan was with Sonny Rollins for a while. He's a pretty versatile/open player. Quote
