Teasing the Korean Posted November 29, 2024 Report Posted November 29, 2024 Ms. TTK and I have an annual holiday tradition. On the Friday after Thanksgiving - which very cleverly happens to be today - we decorate our aluminum Christmas trees, and listen to this YouTube upload of department store Christmas Muzak. Actually, only some of this is Muzak - generally the tunes that you Shazam and don't find a hit. But there are also some recognizable gems, such as those from the first Percy Faith Christmas album, like "Deck the Halls." Quote

Ken Dryden Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 I remember all too well from my retail management days when the reel to reel had issues with pitch, causing a wow in the sound. We were warned not to play the radio over the sound system, to avoid ASCAP complaints. One of these guys used to drop in on a little luncheon place in an office building, the owner told him he wasn't playing music for customers but for himself on a little cassette playing boom box. They will check every possibility for potential revenue. Quote
Daniel A Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 Here in Sweden, at one time they had spies who visited hair saloons for drop-in haircuts, while secretly documenting the source of music in the waiting area. Quote
