RIP to the producer of the earliest hits by the Who and the Kinks, the awesome "Friday on My Mind" by the Easybeats, and more.

Ms. TTK, who frequently plays beat groups on her radio show, will program a Shel Talmy set on today's installment.

I will add parenthetically that, while previewing particular songs for her to include, we were appalled by the lame stereo remix of the My Generation album on the deluxe set.  And there was plenty of room to include the original mono mix.

For me the Australian connection with the Easybeats "Friday On My Mind" (Shel resurrected the band with this recording session after they had moved from Australia to the UK & weren't doing too well there) plus the later production of Pentangle's & Roy Harper's early LPs

Ms. TTK played "Sorry" by the Easybeats yesterday.

RIP. I always loved Friday On My Mind, and still listen to it whenever it comes up on you tube.
