JamesAHarrod
The BlueNote Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series plans to issue Teddy Edwards’ Sunset Eyes next year. Dates and personnel have been muddled for years. My latest post sets the record straight. https://jazzresearch.com/teddy-edwards-sunset-eyes/ Jim
Kevin Bresnahan
Do you have an idea why the CD release didn't include all of this material?
JamesAHarrod
I'm guessing that Michael Cuscuna used what he could find for the CD reissue. Going into the PJ vault was always a minefield. Also some of the tunes from the March 21st session appear to be original compositions by Edwards that did not pass muster. jlhoots
Since I don't have a turntable, I'll stick with the CD issue I have. Not a completist.

Sticking with the CD in this case makes you a completist, as it has unissued bonus tracks that the LP misses.
Brad
My general rule is that if I have the cd I don’t purchase a TP and I have the cd.

Yes but he does mention the rare Billy Higgins vocal single from the session. Stereo Jack sent me that one about 20 years ago and seems only available on a Jordi Special from FreshSounds? Edit to add: The Glory Smyth album has its pleasures too. Edited November 15 by Dan Gould

It would be fair to sell your cd copy and buy the vinyl copy anyway, even though you can't play it 😝
