Rooster_Ties Posted November 4 Report Share Posted November 4 I heard Ravi just once — in the summer of 2000 (July, iirc) at whatever jazz fest was at Penn Valley Park in Kansas City back then (Kansas City International Jazz Festival, probably). I sat on the side of stage next to Elvin so I couldn't hear Jimmy. I don't remember anything except that I was enthralled. mjazzg Posted November 5 Report Share Posted November 5 (edited) I think "Geezer" might have a different meaning over here, a bit shady, on the make possibly illegally, with an element of roguish charm. Maybe not! "Old geezer" is specific and slightly different. An old one of those above but more commonly generically used for old man, affectionately Divided by a common language again... JSngry Posted November 5 Report Share Posted November 5 I heard Ravi kinda live (live streamed due to weather) at the last Detroit Jazz festival doing a tribute to Alice with Brandee Younger and a string section.
