Stompin at the Savoy
Well maybe the CD sounds better (but somehow I doubt it). I thought for a minute about maybe toning it down with an equalizer but nah

So, listening to the bass that bad/unlistenable then? One end of the spectrum says yes, other says no??

Some may find this perfectly acceptable. Still I would suggest listening on YouTube or Spotify before buying.

Being a "bass fetishist" means that not only the artist but also the recording quality/sound is of importance .... but this is (only) me .... btw as part of the "casette recorder generation" this made me get used to meager sound rather early 😎 .... mjazzg
My first listen, casting from Tidal. I can actually hear both sides of the bass debate. It is audible, less so in the full on quartet passages but very definitely when it breaks down to a piano trio. And yes, it is a bit boomy but that doesn't detract too much for me, I'd rather it that way than thin or non-existent. Overall I'd say its SQ is one of the better recently discovered live recordings. The music itself is pretty spectacular. I'll be buying this.
