Maybe its just me but "archival release" doesn't cover a concert from 10 years ago.

This maybe exciting for some but I still hold out hope for something from a BN artist from the Left Bank tapes or something like that.

Archival to me means that the group/project is no longer active, which would be accurate for this release.

It comes from the archive of Wayne's live recordings, with his personal involvement with the production in his final months.

This was a fine band and I'll be happy to check this out, but when I heard about this series my gut sense was that it would all be pretty recent stuff of potentially mixed interest.

The sample piece is gorgeous.  And even on my laptop, it sounds really good.

well....never been a fan of his work in general, except for the solos with Miles, some of which are incredible. As a composer, I never quite understood his appeal; always sounds monochromatic to me.

What ulterior motives could one have?  It took me years to get over the guilt I had for not being a Zappa fan!

well, there's a guy on here who, every time I say I don't like a particular musician, accuses me of saying it because they turned me down for a collaboration.
