GA Russell Posted June 5, 2024 Report Posted June 5, 2024 Parnelli Jones has died at 90. RIP. He was one of the greatest ever, but he received his biggest headlines for his fistfight with Eddie Sachs. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/indianapolis-500-legend-parnelli-jones-passes-away-at-90/ar-BB1nDo4R Quote
Dave Garrett Posted June 8, 2024 Report Posted June 8, 2024 Very few of his stature left now from that generation. Foyt and Andretti are about it, along with Roger Penske (obviously more as a team owner, as his driving career doesn't compare). The sport is already very different now than it was in their heyday, but when those folks all pass it really will be the end of an era. Quote
