Notifications and Messages buttons not working in Firefox

They have stopped working for me in Firefox in the past week or so, no response when I click on them.  They still work fine for me in Chrome.  Is anyone aware of settings which can fix this for me?

I'm on latest version and have restarted several times since issue appeared, but have not done a cold start.  I'll try that, thanks.

Update:  The buttons are being blocked by McAfee WebAdvisor, which was updated on May 8.  When I turn that off, the buttons work, when I turn it back on, they don't.  I have been able to fix the problem by deselecting the "access your data for all websites" option on WebAdvisor.

I always turn McAfee off and use Microsoft Defender Antivirus.  Free, typically already on a Windows machine, and probably the same stuff as McAfee.
