gvopedz Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 Barbara Hannigan, conducting, singing, when will she come to my town? Her latest news: https://www.ludwig-van.com/toronto/2024/05/15/scoop-barbara-hannigan-named-chief-conductor-artistic-director-iceland-symphony-orchestra/ Quote
rostasi Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 Professional performer with a lovely eccentricity. Spent time watching her about 20 years ago during rehearsals and performances and chatting during food breaks day and night. Happy to see her success. Quote
ejp626 Posted May 25 Report Posted May 25 I've actually seen her in person a few times, though not doing Lulu. She performs in Toronto generally once a year. I have tickets to see her Nov. 28 where she'll be doing pieces by Messiaen, Scriabin and Zorn. Should be interesting and challenging in equal measure. Quote
Hoppy T. Frog Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 Saw her do lieder with Reinbert De Leeuw, shortly before he died. Wonderful presence, great singer, great champion of neglected repertoire and, dare I say it, a sexy, sexy woman. Quote
