Wow. Watched “The Intruder" this morning not realizing that he was still alive. And now he's not. Crazy.

RIP to somebody who contributed in so many ways, a giver not a taker.

I remember a great Corman quote.  He was giving instructions to a new young director, and said something like this:  Imagine how much you'd have to spend to make this scene come out great.  Now, imagine how much you'd have to spend to make the scene come out OK.  Now, imaging how much it would cost to simply get the image onto film.  That's what I want you to spend.

I know there are folks around here who like B movies even more than I do, and Corman really was the king. I read recently that he made the original "Little Shop of Horrors" in two days plus a little! And yet, that's a wonderful movie! And all those fun Poe movies! What a wonderful career! RIP!

I remember reading a story about him in a bio I read a long time ago . Someone happened to be on the same plane he was on while he was on the way to some long flight to a third world country to do a shoot. The person was amazed to see Corman seated in the third class section, surrounded by very bad conditions.

His friend said to him, "Roger, what are you doing sitting back here?" He answered, "Just trying to save a buck."

If one of his films got finished early, he was famous for immediately filming another entire movie using the same actors, set and crew for a huge discount on all three; even if no one knew they were making two movies back to back!
