Pharoah was a name bestowed on Mr. Sanders by Sun Ra when the saxophonist was in his band.

Still, I think that Pharoah is properly considered a nickname rather than a stage name.

Yeah, the OP clarified "stage names" to mean musicians' non-given names. I'm sure there's a better way to put all of this.
