I would think that if there were some sort of benefit to subscribing, there might be more subscribers. I subscribe to another forum that has ads. Subscribers don't see the ads. Maybe not pertinent here, but an idea to think about. Since this is a music forum, maybe have some kind download available only to subscribers?

Right now the subscriber model is only a pledge for a certain amount that pledgers were presumably going to donate in 2025 anyway.

I think ideally the subscriber donation should be lower but that necessitates more of us. Not sure we get to 38.

You pay $50 / record?!?

Not for every one of course but some of the more rare finds are yes.

I would prefer  to repair the donation tab so I can mail a donation when I have free cash which is not alway the case.

For this year a little additional "St. Nick" is possible.

Done!!! Happy holidays

... I wish I could get the Donations tab working again. I'll look into that some more. That was nice when it was working. Anyway, my PayPal is b3groover@hotmail.com

Thanks!

I'm in Japan - tried sending direct the other day, but PayPal won't let me.

The Donations tab would seem to be the answer ...

happy to subscribe as well but I would strongly advise against making this anything more than a voluntary option... registering here is already quite an achievement these days it seems - so we shouldn't add a second hurdle of having to pay 50$ after making it through the registration before one can start posting... at the very least, I would give people the first 100 posts for free (wonder who the last newbie was to make it past 100 posts... I bet it was some time ago)

Strongly agree with Niko about not requiring a subscription to post. I'm happy to commit to a $50/yr model and to set up an automatic annual deduction, but as Niko points out, it's already difficult enough getting any new blood here without adding a mandatory user fee for anybody who wishes to contribute to the discussion.
