The Magnificent Goldberg Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 these showed up today Is that Billy Larkin out on Fresh Sound? That's one I'd like to upgrade - superb album! MG PS - but it has the sleeve for "Pygmy" - is it a twofer? Ah - just found it on Amazon.uk cheapish. Has all the tracks from "Pygmy" and "Blue lights", but in mixed up order (oh I hate it when they do that!). Still, I've ordered it Thanks for the heads up NS! MG Quote

I'm nearly finished spinning it, it sounds good. These 2 sessions sound better to me then 'Hold On!' Which i have on LP (in mono, i believe, wish i had a stereo copy!) Quote

mikelz777 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) An excellent soul jazz two-fer containing "The Soul Brotherhood" and "Reelin' With The Feelin'". As of this writing, this one's fairly expensive all over the internet but there's one currently on auction on Ebay and the bidding's less than $5.00 right now. Grab one if you find one at a price you like, it's a wonderful set! The Jazz Brothers have been on my wish list for quite a while so I finally sprung for it. A nice taste of Chuck Mangione (on the far left) when he still played jazz and also a nice taste of Sal Nistico on both CDs. New to me as a leader. I've been in a trumpet-y mood lately.
