BruceH Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Andrew!!!---Andrew Hill (found it used) and Trumpeta Toccata---Kenny Dorham (one helluva good album, with one of the rare-as-a-hens'-tooth appearences of Tommy Flanagan on Blue Note.) Quote

Joe G Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I've been buying a lot of music lately, by my standards. I have these piles of cds all around the house. I really need to sit down, get them organized on the shelves, and get around to some listening! Not that I haven't been listening to them at all, but there are quite a few still in the wrapper, 3 or 4 months later... Carry on. Quote

ep1str0phy Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 I just got the Holy Ghost boxed set (would've had it sooner had economic concerns not interfered, but it IS an investment), and I am in love. Quote

Shannon Dickey Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 A very (IMHO) great local trio called "NIGHTSHARK", self titled, no label, issued in a hand numbered edition of 33 copies! Trio consists of Guitar, Baritone Sax and Drums. There live shows kick many buttocks!! They have at least 7 CDs out, not all as limited as the abovementioned. Wax Trax Records, in Denver has various titles in stock. This is 'Jazz' in a very 'free' mode. Malkah, the Saxophonist, is amazing! Quote
Matthew Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 John Coltrane: Blue Train. It's the Classic Records HDAD format. I've heard good things about the sound quality and I thought I'd give it a try. Quote
JohnJ Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Down in Yokohama at the weekend and picked up 'The Next Step' by Kurt Rosenwinkel at a local Tower. Tower Japan is seperate from Tower US and still going strong but they had a few items for around $4 in a clearance sale and this was one of them. Quote
