HutchFan
After kicking around in a few shops today, I brought home these titles -- all used, all vinyl: 2 LP set The STEREOPHONIC version, oh yes with Harold Vick and Freddie Waits Konitz sans drummer Edited June 24, 2022 by HutchFan

Rabshakeh
Cy Touff – His Octet & Quintet I cleared out a lot of records today; over thirty. Short sharp and brutal. My four year old son had tears in his eyes thinking that I might sell Jump Up Calypso by Harry Belafonte, but I took pity. Then I took myself to Alan's on the Finchley Road, and bought myself this as a consolation prize. I've been going through a Kamuca phase for a while and this is the first time I've seen a record of his in the wild other than the Shelly Manne live set. Rab, If you're on a Richie Kamuca kick, you might want keep an eye out for this LP: The Richie Kamuca Quartet - Richie (Concord, 1977) with Mundell Lowe (g), Monty Budwig (b), and Nick Ceroli (d) The Concord LP is actually a reissue. Originally, it was issued on the tiny, L.A.-based Jazzz label as Richard Kamuca: 1976. Like a slug of good whiskey, it goes down smooth and makes you feel warm. I know that one, and am definitely on the lookout for it. Kamuca records (other than the Shelly Manne set) are hard to find.

Kevin Bresnahan
Yesterday, I picked up a few things from the newly-reopened Bull Moose Music in Portsmouth, NH. LPs Paul Desmond - Summertime (A&M/CTI) Paul Desmond - Bridge Over Troubled Water (A&M). Bought this on an All Music Guide recommendation. It's good - not great - and I only thought one track was "eh" ("America"). Duke Ellington - Meets Coleman Hawkins (Impulse!/Analogue Productions). This is the recent reissue. CDs Al Cohn/Zoot Sims - From A To Z - And Beyond (RCA) Stan Getz - The Song Is You (Laserlight Digital). This one was bought after the discussions here. It is pretty good stuff.
