Great haul indeed! Kicking myself for not going this time... especially for CDs it's amazingly cheap (Randy Weston Select for 15 Euros last time...) and you get to see some pretty legendary records (at pretty steep prices though...) will certainly try to make it again in November...

Thanks! Very happy with it. Took me a day to collect, the fair is quite big and the prices are ridiculous a lot of the time. And now almost no time to listen because of work unfortunately haha. But holidays are coming here :)

A ‘while’ being defined as circa 24 hours, presumably? :D

Exactly! You clearly know how it works :) within 48 hours some ultra rare recording on my wantlist will pop up and than I have to buy it... I mean it would be ridiculous not to!

I don't usually go for multiple versions of big opera/vocal works, but this looks interesting enough to make an exception. Somewhat controversial recording with one voice per part and fast tempi. I like one voice per part in Renaissance polyphony, and clips sounded good, so giving it a shot.

Excellent performance with effective use of the single voices ....

I've been very impressed by the recent RareNoise releases featuring Rudd and this looked like an interesting mix of musicians

Didn’t even realise that this one had been reissued on limited vinyl until now. Canadian issue by the looks of it. Purchased from the guys in Portobello, along with the 2nd Bird/Curtis and the Garrick ‘Shades’, which have been on my list for a while.

Reputedly, Guy Warren’s later album on Regal Zonophone was better, however I’m not complaining !

That's where I saw it and purchased it. Love their stock selection but the bank balance doesn't

I'm really looking forward to hearing the Warren - I've avoided listening to online samples. A game I play now and again so that the new purchase is fresh

The Bird Curtis keep flying into view too but as of today not snaffled

If I actually lived anywhere near their shops I would be bankrupted by now !  The occasional mail order purchase will suffice, eased by no mail charge above £50.

I had the Guy Warren on CDR but the damn thing no longer plays so delighted to see it on vinyl. A Lansdowne Series title which eludes me !  I see that it is advertised as a RSD release, presumably North America only as I didn’t see it in the RSD racks over here.

I went into carpe diem mode at Princeton Record Exchange and grabbed several multi-disc sets: The Weston, Pendulum, Bechet and Matthews Mosaic Selects, Coltrane's 1961 Village Vanguard box, Fletcher Henderson's three-disc Columbia box and the two-disc Mulligan/Webster deluxe edition.  I passed on several other sets having already exceeded my meager budget, but I also bought several other single discs, which I'll post later.

Copy number 320 just landed from West London.

’Return To Analog’ who have reissued this have also put out some interesting CBC Radio Canada reissues, which I must check out. I note with this Guy Warren that the co-operation of the Warren Estate is credited, so maybe we will also see reissues of ‘Emergent Drums’ and ‘The African Soundz’.

And I have one of those red and white postcards from the postman...rather than a red and white box from out West

Here's hoping for the other reissues

Don't own a recording of this (though I've seen it live), for no good reason. Considered Krips and Mackerras, decided on Krips due to the stellar cast.
