golfcrazy1984 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 "Steppin' Into Swing Society" by Mercer Ellington. Lot's of great cats in the band. Clark Terry, Cat Anderson, Shorty Baker...Hodges, Webster, Strayhorn, etc.!!! Never heard this music before, not groundbreaking, but great to hear "new" music. Especially for such a fan of this music...all things Ellingtonian. Quote
kh1958 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 In the mail came, Ghana Sounz (Soundway), and on LP, Buddy Terry, Electric Soul (Prestige). Quote

AndrewHill Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Hit my local Exchange and nothing really special there, but on the way out the door, I asked if they had any jazz going out and the clerk said, "we just got the motherload, you like the older stuff?" I kid you not, there were two stacks on the floor with about 125 cd's in each stack, that hadn't even been put out for sale yet. The clerk said, you wanna pull up a chair? ...HELL YEAH I DO!!!!
