BruceH Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Julian Cannonbal Adderley (EmArcy) Nice one! I got this a few years back and never regretted it. BTW, all the talk on a recent thread about Gerry Mulligan made me realize I didn't have Night Lights but I'd been kind of meaning to get it for some time. So I pulled the trigger and it just came in the mail yesterday. Very nice. Quote

mikelz777 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I've been on a bit of a country/bluegrass tear lately. The Stanley Brothers - The King Years 1961-1965 (4-CD) Quote
colinmce Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 Stopped by the consignment store and grabbed this on CD: Plus a few odd LPs: Dave Brubeck Quartet/Jay & Kai at Newport (Columbia) Joe Newman + Wess, Foster et al - The Count's Men (Jazztone) Manny Albam Orchestra + The First Modern Piano Quartet - A Gallery of Gershwin (Coral) The Perasuasive Trombone of Urbie Green and his Orchestra (Command) Not sure what to expect out of those last two. The Piano Quartet consists of Eddie Costa, Johnny Costa, Dick Marx and Hank Jones. Not bad for a 10 minute speed-scan of their disorganized and unreliable stacks. Quote

This set has 101(!) tracks containing master, overdubbed, undubbed, alternate, incomplete and demo version takes. I'm really looking forward to giving this one a listen. Quote
