AndrewHill Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) Made the way down the hill from work to Amoeba (gorgeous today in SF!) and picked some OOP releases on vinyl at great prices. Lee Morgan – Taru John McLaughlin – Where Fortune Smiles Gabor Szabo – Live (w/Charles Lloyd and featuring a NSFW cover) Gary Burton – Ring Comments on these are welcomed. I think you scored with Where Fortune Smiles. Although I don't own it, the samples I've heard are awesome! Just have a cd player and the cd is pretty rare nowadays. I know something is worth only what someone would pay for it but I was surprised to find Where Fortune Smiles for 5 bucks after seeing the CD go for 40 on amazon. Its some killer free jazz. Gave all of these a listen so far and they are all excellent. I think side one of the Szabo and side two of the Burton I have enjoyed the most so far. Quote

I think it's an excellent disc. It makes me want to pick up "Ramblin'" which also features Roy Ayers. I was saying in another thread that I'm surprised that Wilson didn't have a bigger following because I think he was worthy of one. Quote
