clifford_thornton
An 8 CD limited edition release by the Jonas Kullhammar Quartet called The Half Naked Truth. All the music is previously unreleased and was recorded live or in studio between 1998-2008. If you haven't heard this guy, he's the real deal. Up over and out. He is a great player, tho admittedly I haven't always been impressed by his bands. The one with the Norbotten Big Band I remember liking a lot, though. Niko
after yesterdays success i got another miles davis disc today... Miles Davis - Boston 1955 Art Pepper/Chet Baker - Picture of Heath both surprisingly boppy, both with very fine tenor playing (by jay migliori and phil urso) and the Jazzactuel BYG 3 CD set for 8 euro... didn't expect to find another version of one of my favorite pop songs on it (hugh hopper's memories sung by robert wyatt)
BillF
Art Pepper/Chet Baker - Picture of Heath Very keen on that one. Beautiful compositions. Very balanced, integrated group. Just lacks the fire of The Route by Pepper and Baker IMHO.

Aggie87
I think this is Circuit City's last day or two of being open. Stopped by there on the way to somewhere else, and they had 90% off cds/dvds. But there was nothing really to pick from. I ended up with: George Duke - Faces in Reflection Clarke/Miller/Wooten - Thunder Ben Harper - Lifeline Allison Moorer - Mockingbird ...for a grand total of $5.20. Dave James
Lou Levy - Lunarcy on Gitanes (Verve). The Stein Brothers Quintet - Quixotic. One brother on tenor, the other on alto. Both with very round, Mobley-like sounds. Nice. Also, received the Benedetti Mosaic today from a seller on eBay. I'm looking forward to hearing this after many years of waffling back and forth on its purchase. Up over and out.
