Two more from my recent OJC order turned up today

Fantasy included as bonus cuts on the Griff/Jaws the ones they missed out from the reissues of the Minton's set. Concord REALLY ought to think of a decent box covering all their Prestige and Riverside/Jazzland albums.

Just starting to listen to the Adderley now. Sounds more than fine.

LA Four - Two by Four (double cd with the albums watch what happens and live in montreux) cheap from a cheapo bookstore... on my way home i was afraid i had just spend money on something incredibly cheesy...(had no real idea what was expecting me) but now that it's up and running... two cds full of fine Bud Shank!

Back at my favorite record shop today.

Picked up the following:

Johnny Hartman 'Boston Concert 1976' (Gambit)

Intégrale Louis Armstrong, vol. 4 'West End Blues 1926-1928' (Fremeaux)

Intégrale Django Reinhardt, vol. 15 (1947) 'Gipsy With a Song' (Fremeaux) with several unissued radio broadcasts,

Ran Blake/Jeanne Lee 'You Stepped Out of a Dream' (Owl)

The Armstrong vol. 4 is scheduled for release next week but it was already available as a brand new secondhand copy at €17, 70 for the 3CD set!

Good grief! A jazz critic who thought it was rubbish!

Durium

Yeah, George is a long-time favourite of mine, since the sixties! There are some other of his CDs at CD Baby; one of which I haven't got yet. (SO much music, SO little money!)
