Ron S
Wes Montgomery - "Complete Live in Paris 1965" I see you took my advice over at AAJ. I'd be interested to hear your reaction to this. I think it's a real "hidden gem" of Wes' discography.
BFrank
I've been meaning to get the Wes set for a while. I have some of it on vinyl on an Affinity release called "Impressions", so I knew it would be good. ... and it is. I haven't made my way through the whole thing yet, and I look forward to the cuts with Johnny Griffin. I love "Full House". As for "Blows Against the Empire". I always liked this album a lot since it came out. I think it might sound a bit dated to someone hearing it for the first time, though. The remaster is a great improvement on the previous CD release. There are some interesting extra tracks, including about 3 radio commercials for the album (which aren't listed in the liners). It also comes with a mini-reproduction of the lyric booklet that came with the album. Both albums HIGHLY recommended from me.

Clunky
Johnny Hodges - Memories of Ellington - (Columbia UK pressing "Clef series" of Norgran MGN 1004)- turns out to be a real dog's dinner of an LP with tracks from a number of session between 1951 and 1954. Sound is lovely though.
