Saved up monthly for the big record fair in Den Bosch and I did manage to pick up some great records. Prices seem to get a little more reasonable too. These items were all on my 64 piece wantlist so I felt very lucky. And I didn’t make even one impulsive buy. The discipline of me. I’m getting better at these things.

I'd love to go to Den Bosch but not too sure I could be so disciplined as you @Pim

Some great stuff there, the Jefferson is terrific, do you know the one that Sam Records reissued? It's an absolute gem.

Thoughts?

Branford Marsalis Quartet - Belonging - Blue Note Records

I like it. I'm going to spin it again before deciding where it sits with reference to the original. I do know that I like Calderazzo's piano playing quite a bit, so at least that's not a problem in comparison.

Haha it was hard. So many interesting and rare records. That Jefferson is on my radar! Your recommendation brings back my memory: I saw it a few months ago on the Sam website and it sparked my interest

Wow. Never even heard of that Taylor/Murray title. Regret selling the Rene Thomas CD, but I needed to sell off part of my collection to survive while in college back in the 90's.

No Cecil Taylor on that one ;) it’s actually Jimmy Lyons and Sunny Murray with John Lindberg on bass. Intense and highly recommended music!
