Pim Posted December 12, 2023 Report Posted December 12, 2023 The record label that’s reissuing Reminicent Suite and that reissued a dozen other great J Jazz records put out a book now that looks pretty interesting: https://bbemusic.com/news/we-are-proud-to-announce-bbes-very-first-book-j-jazz-free-and-modern-jazz-from-japan-1954-1988 Quote
Niko Posted December 12, 2023 Report Posted December 12, 2023 That looks indeed as if it fills a gap in the book market we'd discussed before... Quote
T.D. Posted December 13, 2023 Report Posted December 13, 2023 We discussed this briefly on the Japanese Jazz Reissues thread. Looks to me like too much album covers, too little text, so I'd have to see more details. And shipping to US is likely to be prohibitive unless domestic vendors (Dusty Groove, etc.) elect to stock it. Quote
felser Posted December 13, 2023 Report Posted December 13, 2023 Book is billed as being cover art, so truth in advertising there anyways. JJ-Book-Final_Frontcover.avif Quote

T.D. Posted December 13, 2023 Report Posted December 13, 2023 Thanks. If it's album covers, I'll pass. I still haven't purchased the Sun Ra album covers book, and that's a higher priority. Though this volume is attractive. Quote
