Earth, Wind  & Fire "In The Stone" (ARC Columbia) 1979 .... simply delightful bassplaying courtesy of Verdine White ....  ending a string of outstanding albums by this group in the 70's ....

Phoebe Snow "Standing On Shakey Ground" (Columbia) 1976 .... the Temptations took this Eddie Hazel song straight to the top of the charts in 1975, but this cover is something else ....  btw what a bass line ....

The Emotions "I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love (M+M Mix)" (BBE Music) 2017 .... obviously teaming up with Earth, Wind & Fire was a jackpot for The Emotions .... this John Morales mix makes the Verdine White bassgrooves clearly audible .... and Wanda Hutchinson soars .... Disco/Funk borderliner ....

In 1973, this Capricorn label band (Duke Williams & Extremes) met with the Phila. Intl. rhythm section and cut, 'Chinese Chicken'.  Note how the Sichuan pepper sauce starts burning halfway thru.

Fatback "Let Me Do It To You" (Spring Records) 1979 .... the fat bassgroove of Johnny Flippin and sophisticated voice arrangements make this a memorable track from an otherwise patchy album ....
